Rating Clinics are held at Lake Miona courts the first Thurs of each month at 2.30pm Sign up: The sign up sheet is open at 8.30am, 1 week ahead of the Rating Clinic date, at Lake Miona Recreation Center. For further details call 352 430 2950. Recommendation: Players should complete the Beginner Program Lessons, PB101, Drills, PB102 & PB103, before attending. So their status should in the region of 2.5+ [see Rating Descriptions] Clinic Cancellation: If the Clinic is canceled due to inclement weather the Recreation Center at Lake Miona will have the new date. Call: 352 430 2950. Play & Exhibition starts at 2.30pm: You will get the opportunity to “warm up” before your rating commences. A short exhibition is given of the game with commentary to advise players of the requirements for their rating. Rating Evaluation: You will be assigned to a similar group based on your “expected” rating. This process takes about 20 minutes, and is based on your play with different partners, on different sides, and with 2 or more raters “on court” assessing play. Rating Summary: Each player is then advised individually of the rating given, and why. Rating Appeals Process: If you are dissatisfied with your Rating, please appeal to the Rating Team Director, Deb Harrison, on the day of the clinic, and she will re evaluate you or send you to another team for further assessment Handouts & Pickleball Information: Each attending player receives a copy of the Rating Descriptions used at this clinic, and a list of lessons & clinic available throughout the Villages Villages on-line Ratings List:Ladies and Men’s Ratings are listed on www.pickleballcommunity.com and update after each Rating Clinic. Please allow at least 48 hours for this process to take place Your next Rating Clinic visit: Example: If you take a rating place on Thurs 1st June you are NOT eligible to return for another rating until Thurs 7th Sept. This allows everyone the opportunity to practice between clinics, and could allow as many as 100 more people to be rated in the interim 2 months Clinic non - attendance: Signed up, didn’t show up, and did not call to cancel. You receive a penalty of 3 months before you can return to the Clinic. This eligible date will be noted and listed on the Ladies or Men’s Rating page of this www.pickleballcommunity.com website. This clinic is so popular, raters are all volunteers, therefore all places need to be fully utilized. Rating Adjustments: Ratings may be adjusted based on the recommendation of The Villages Tournament Committee. Rationale: Champions of specific skill levels warrant a 'bump up' to the next level of competition. Players will be notified by The Villagers Rating Team when appropriate. Thank you.
