Tournament Basic Information

PCVG tournaments are held at Rohan Recreation Center almost every month.

The Senior Games (April), Men’s Cup (October), Women’s Cup (November) are not run by the PCVG and have their own rules and registration processes.

The following information is for all “Regular” PCVG tournaments (all those not listed above).

To be eligible, a player MUST:

  • Have a DUPR account as match results will be submitted to DUPR (this is new for 2024)
  • Have a valid Villages ID
  • Be at least 50 years old
  • Have a PCVG or DUPR Rating (except for the March Open)

For DUPR ratings, the follow ranges are accepted:

  • 3.0 = Anything up to 3.499
  • 3.5 = 3.500 – 3.999
  • 4.0 = 4.000 – 4.499
  • 4.5/5.0 = 4.500 – 5.499

The PCVG Tournament Committee will review any entries when the PCVG and DUPR ratings would put a player in different levels. For example,if a player has a 3.5 PCVG rating and a 4.225 DUPR rating, the player may enter as either a 3.5 or a 4.0. The committee will look at their previous results, as well as their DUPR scores to decide which level is more appropriate.

Tournaments typically have 4 divisions, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5/5.0.   Providing that at least 12 teams register, the tournament will be divided into an “older” and “younger” division.     Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to the top three teams in each division.

For the January and February tournaments, players must play in their own divisions.   All remaining 2024 tournaments will allow players to “play up” one level. (For example, a 3.5 player may play in the 4.0 division).

Normally, the 4.5/5.0 division plays on Tuesdays,   The 3.0 and 4.0 divisions play on Thursdays and the 3.5 division plays on Fridays.

Registration may be done on-line OR at one of the Regional Recreation Centers. The schedule shows the registration dates.   There is no entry fee.    There are no rain dates in the case of inclement weather.
