Become a PCVG Volunteer
The Pickleball Community Volunteer Group (PCVG) has multiple opportunities for talented community members who are pickleball enthusiasts to join the PCVG Volunteer Program.
The PCVG provides many instructional programs, leagues, tournaments, drill groups, clinics, referee training, DUPR camps, rating clinics, and more. All these programs are run by hundreds of dedicated volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year.
To ensure our programs remain top notch, we are always seeking people who are dedicated to helping promote pickleball. If you have a special talent or talents, please consider joining our Volunteer Program.
Opportunities
Current PCVG volunteer opportunities include the following. One does not need to possess every mentioned skill within a category to volunteer.
- Computer technology: Includes expertise in any of the following: application programming, Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word, data entry.
- Marketing: Includes managing sponsors, social media, email, special events and updating the website.
- Website administration: Includes the enhancement and maintenance of the PCVG website. Expertise in web design. Currently, the PCVG uses WordPress as its website application.
- Communication & registration applications: Includes knowledge of communication and registration applications. Currently the PCVG uses MailChimp and Signup Genius.
- Facebook: Includes posting information to The Villages Pickleball Community Facebook page, monitoring comments posted to this site, responding to questions and comments as needed.
- Instructional programs: Includes assisting with the PCVG instructional programs as needed. Can include creating instructional programs, creating videos, assisting with current programs such as Intro to Pickleball, skills clinics, and camps.
- Drills & clinics: Includes assisting with the PCVG drill and clinic sessions as needed.
- Rating clinics: Includes assisting with PCVG with the facilitation of rating clinics and DUPR camps.
- Leagues: Includes assisting with League activities such as serving as a team Captain, creating league communication, keeping league website information updated, updating league stats, planning league social events).
- Tournaments: Includes scheduling tournaments, overseeing registrations, seeding the players, developing the brackets, overseeing the tournament during the days of play, recording tournament results as needed.
- Refereeing: Includes refereeing at PCVG/Recreation Center tournaments and other events. Training is required.
- Other: Perhaps you have a special talent not listed above that will benefit our pickleball community. We welcome the opportunity to hear about it.
