The 4.0-4.5 Mixed Pickleball League has two seasons each year, one in the Fall and one in the Winter.

League Details

The Winter season begaon on January 15, 2025 and runs through April 2, 2025.  Matches will be played on Wednesdays between 10AM and Noon at the Rohan and Bradenton Recreation Centers.

There are eight teams consisting of 12 players each, with 6 women and 6 men on each team.  The eight playing captains will draft players for their teams from all players that register for the draft, alternating as they choose to select either a female or male player of any rating.

The season consists of seven scheduled round robin matches between the eight teams, followed by a series of Playoff matches based on the standings after the round robin matches.  The number of Playoff matches will be determined based on the number of matches that are canceled due to weather. Cancelled round robin matches will require the use of the later weeks in the schedule and completed prior to any Playoff matches.

A Play Day was scheduled for Wednesday January 8, 2025, where players may play against other registered players to demonstrate their skills.  The captains will attend the Play Day and review the players in action prior to the draft.  Any player registered for the draft or to be a league substitute may attend and play.  Attendance is not required to be drafted or to be a league substitute. This is an opportunity for new players to the league, or players that may not have played recently, to demonstrate their abilities and increase their possibilities to be drafted or called to substitute.

Eligibility

• Villages Resident
• PCVG rating of 4.0 or 4.5 or have a DUPR rating of 4.0 – 4.999 as of January 2, 2025
• Be at least 50 years of age as of January 2, 2025
• Submit your registration for the 2025 Winter season before midnight on January 2, 2025

Selection Process

The draft for the 2025 Winter season will be held on January 10, 2025, with drafted players notified that day.

Everyone who registers will be entered into the draft and possibly selected to be a regular weekly player on one of the eight teams. Anyone not selected will automatically be added to the sub list. As a league sub, you will provide your availability and may be requested by one of the team captains to play for their team on a specific date.

All players registering for the draft must be available to play in a minimum of 7 weeks of the first 10 weeks in the schedule.  If you cannot be available for at least 7 of the first 10 weeks of the schedule, you should register to be a substitute for the league.
